The calm (TISSNET 2017) before the storm (XAT 2017)
A good boost before XAT 2017!!!
This was easily the easiest TISSNET in the last 4 years. The test was very close to the one held a few years back in which the cut-off for MA in HR (general category) was 89.
All the sections, we repeat all, were from easy to very easy.
There was one incorrect question in Quantitative Aptitude/Reasoning/DI and hence the scoring would, most probably, be done on 29. Most of the students should be able to score 28-29 on this section. We believe that there were only two questions in this section which could pose any challenge: one on the number of rectangles and the other one on expenditure/profit/sales.
In Verbal Ability, most of the students should be able to get 28-29/30 as there were just two questions (again) to pose any challenge: polyglot (especially with one of the options as polymath) and "no sooner did the bell ring".
So, the deciding factor in TISSNET 2017 is the performance in GK (as has been the case with TISSNET), but, here also, one would not get stuck except for some beamers: AadheAdhure, Minimum Wages Act, etc. We strongly feel that a well-prepared student could score 34-35 on this section, but as we know that not many MBA aspirants are well prepared for this section, a score of 30-32 should keep one in race.
As there was no negative marking in TISSNET 2017, the ideal number of attempts should have been 100!
The overall cut-off (Gen category) for MA in HR should be 85-87.
